Asma Chalaff from the Muslim village of Mukeble and Sheila Dvore from the Jewish city of Afula are women artists. They are neighbors and friends who want to change the feelings of animosity between the Arabs and Jews who live in the lower Galilee in Israel.

These two ladies visit each other and create paintings that express their desire for peace in the area. They call their paintings "peace paintings".

Asma, a mother of three is an art teacher. she paints landscapes such as Arab villages and ruins of what was once a village… she paints from her heart in oil and acrylic paints on canvases, The size often 70 by 50 cm. Asma connects and meets with her Jewish artist friend Sheila. Often they paint together and discuss their dreams of peace.

Sheila, a mother of three, and grandmother of four, is an art teacher and curator of exhibitions. In her paintings she uses the dove with an olive branch in its beak as a symbol of peace. Also the prickly pears- a wild cactus that grows all over the country- its fruit is full of thorns and yet is very sweet on the inside

These two women cherish their friendship, and want to make a change - an artistic and cultural change to be followed by others.
