Desert Embroidery works to bring gainful employment to Bedouin women in Lakia and its surroundings by preserving the folk art women learned from their mothers and grandmothers. Every purchase of their hand embroidery contributes to the personal empowerment of Bedouin women. Throughout the years their project has become a model in the Negev for handicraft employment.

The notebooks come in several sizes and are made with recycled paper. The binding and assembly of the notebooks is completed at a kibbutz (cooperative community) nearby, and so the finished product is a beautiful harmony between these two communities and cultures. The embroidery of each notebook, as handmade, is unique.
