Desert Embroidery works to bring gainful employment to Bedouin women in Lakia and its surroundings by preserving the folk art women learned from their mothers and grandmothers. Every purchase of their hand embroidery contributes to the personal empowerment of Bedouin women. Throughout the years their project has become a model in the Negev for handicraft employment.
This unusual shawl can also be used as a furniture drape. Embroidered in the Negev Desert, this collector's item was discovered during an exploratory trip through the Bedouin community at the request of a customer who was seeking something different to enhance her couch.
